Shaherzaad Laila

Born and raised in Pakistan, a land of cultural diversity and artistic heritage, Shaherzaad Laila is a rising connoisseur of Urdu Literature in Pakistan.Her passion for music, literature, and the arts shapes her creative pursuits. 

Her journey into the world of arts began in the hallways of her school.  From penning scripts for school plays to stepping onto the illuminated stages, storytelling has captivated from her early years. These early experiences planted the roots of her passion for the arts, setting the way for a journey that would bring her from school performances to prominent national platforms.

She academically pursued media and communication studies, which enabled her to merge her passion for storytelling with the broader media landscape.Theoretical studies laid a foundation, but hands-on experiences shaped her understanding.

Her creative work has transitioned between cinematography and writing. Beyond artistic expression, her love of the written word has been a lifelong companion, fostered by her father, a literary scholar. She devoted herself to her craft, working in a literary and art school where she contributed significantly. 

She has achieved distinction in the fields of narrative and video production through her noteworthy contributions to prestigious institutions such as the WWF and National Radio and Television. She then launched Zauqverse, a production company dedicated solely to the arts and literature, establishing a platform for creative expression.

As the co-author of her debut book as a translator, "Heartstrings of the Khyber," she invites readers to explore romantic legends from Pashto.
